Spring Conference
All four districts in the Golden West Region meet once a year for Spring Conference. It is during Spring Conference where the clubs take care of business. Business sessions are held to approve the next year’s budget. Votes are taken on many Soroptimist matters. Elections of board officers take place. Awards and presentations are made to clubs that have distinguished themselves that year, and cash awards are presented to the winners of the Women’s Opportunity Award and the Violet Richardson Award.

Making a Difference for Women winners are presented with an award and then the year is formally wrapped up.

The Golden Western Region Governor is in charge of putting on the Spring Conference with the assistance of one or more host clubs. Spring Conferences last three days and are held in May or early June.

Fall Conference
Fall Conferences are held every fall (usually in October). The purpose of a Fall Conference is to get all the clubs in each district together to pass along information on the different committee requirements, projects of the Golden West Region, Federation projects, and generally to share what each club is doing. There are 14 clubs in our District (4).

Each District Director is in charge of her Fall Meeting. One or more clubs volunteer each year to host the event. When possible, the Golden West Region Governor and Board Members also attend the Fall Meeting.

Committee coordinators or a committee member from each of the Golden West Region Committees has an opportunity to introduce her project and offer help to each club.

Fall Meetings are a perfect time for Soroptimist members to get to know the members of other clubs in the district. It is basically information and training.

Fall Meetings usually last one day. Often, the hosting club has a social gathering the evening before.
